Excellent place to stay, clean and comfy. Rooms are not large, but this is quality lodging. Showers have good water flow and the toiletries smell nice. Clean rooms.

Nice hotel, the reception staff couldn’t have been a bit more helpful. I forgot my sweatpants in the room, returned a few hours after checking out, and nothing was found. The person at reception didn’t make any effort to call the cleaner or help in any way when I came back the same day. I contacted them over email and the manager was able to replace my item by purchasing a new one which was very nice of them!

Pleasantly surprised with this accommodation. Booked my brief stay the same day as my arrival. Check in was smooth, room was clean, beautiful and cozy, great amenities I wish I could have used but time and weather wasn't permitting this. Complimentary breakfast was delicious with a variety of options (I ate sausage links, French toast, tangerines, pastry). I love the cappuccino machine at the check in area. Location was perfect with great shopping and restaurants nearby. In summary, I wish I could have stayed longer.

Great location (close to restaurants etc.), great service (very attentive and friendly staff), great room design (tasteful decor, all basics provided, including a dyson hairdryer, a steamer for clothes, etc), very clean, neat, and quiet. Good quality linens and towels. They have a pool and gym on premises and serve free breakfast each morning (fresh fruit, yogurts, oatmeal, eggs etc). Freshly brewed coffee/espresso drinks/hot chocolate/water available 24/7. I would absolutely consider staying here again if I'm back in the area.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. The nightly rate was affordable, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. We weren’t sure what to expect because you can’t believe everything you see online but this place blew us away. The room was clean and had everything you could possibly need including ample outlets, a powerful air conditioner, and even a Keurig. They also have high quality toiletries that helped make the room seem that much more luxurious. The breakfast that’s included with the hotel stay was also fantastic. The food was delicious and there were a lot of options available. We absolutely loved staying here and we will definitely be back.

Recently stayed for two days at The cottages with my daughter before and after her surgery at the Stanford Redwood City surgical facility. The staff was incredibly accommodating from start to finish. From extra towels, extra pillows to help post-surgery, and even a late check out -- they were fantastic. The room was lovely and current. Impeccably clean and homey, in the best of ways. The sliding, screened door to the small, private patio was ideal to get fresh air in and had a small table and chairs to sit outside. The amenities in the room -- from the small fridge to the dyson hair dryer, were fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and again, the whole experience was fantastic. I wouldn't think twice about staying there again -- and, I am *very* particular. The community outdoor area was lovely, too -- spaces to sit by the fire, even a pool, had we chosen to use it. The continental breakfast included was delicious, different each day - and the staff throughout, from the kitchen team to those cleaning, were lovely. It was also an added perk that the coffee/tea machine was available 24 hours. The gym is quaint, but ideal with free weights, a treadmill and peleton -- and there was a washer and dryer for guests' laundry, including laundry pods. Honestly, they thought of everything there. In an era when hotels are decreasing their overall and in-room amenities, The Cottages is not. I never write so much in a review -- but truly, it was wonderful and peaceful and a great stay.

My husband booked a really nice room here for a tenth anniversary surprise staycation, and this place does not disappoint. Our room had an adorable balcony that we’d have used more if good ol’ Karl the Fog (bay area joke) hadn’t wrecked sunrise. The location is 20 min easy walk from Santa Ana (main downtown drag). It was just a very quiet, relaxing space for us. The only small bummer: there’s no way to connect one’s laptop or phone to the smart TV so when I wanted to cast Fox One to watch the FIFA bronze match, couldn’t do it. Not a deal breaker, though. Breakfast was really nice as well, and you get unlimited coffee from a very good machine in the lobby which was a perk. Would definitely return. Shout-out to the staff here as well. Husband arranged for a bottle of Prosecco, and we were also gifted a little bottle of red wine. The check in clerk is a lovely gentleman, and check out was smooth and easy.

Delightful stay - thoughtful amenities! Quiet cabin style rooms with landscaped patios. Set back from the road and parking lot, there is not a lot of noise at night for a peaceful rest. Dyson hair dyer in the room was a nice touch! Room was clean and renovated nicely. Hot breakfast provided every day with an amazing coffee machine available 24/7.
